Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a spectacular trek to the South Face of Annapurna I (8,091m). Offer breathtaking views of the Fishtail Peak-Machhapuchhare (6,993m). Watch a magnificent sunrise over Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill (3,210m). The peaks Annapurna-III (7,600m) and Annapurna -IV (7,400m) are visible from this point and the gigantic glacier of Machhapuchhare makes its presence felt. Passing through deep forest you will see small temple where local people put offerings of flowers, cloth, and leaves as well. From Himalayan Hotel to Hinko at 3100m it receives name Hinko cave because of huge overhanging rock which gives protection against rain and avalanches. The trail descends to meet the Modi Khola and follows the river to Bagar. From Bagar climb passing through birch forest. Walk through villages, forests and upstream along the Modi Khola into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. You will have easy day for acclimatization is necessary; also a great opportunity for you to enjoy the phenomenal mountain views from here. Other highlights of this trip highlight of this is the spectacular view from Poon Hill (3,210m), considered a photographer\\\'s paradise. This spells the end of the experience of a lifetime, bringing you down to Tirkhedhunga through rice terraces and colorful rhododendron forests and a last chance to admire the beauty and monstrosity of the Annapurna range. You will continue trek to Phedi, from here it is back to Pokhara and a comfortable night\\\'s sleep.
Your trekking preparation:
This trek is considered as a non-technical trek and suitable for average people. If you are moderately fit and have a sense of adventure will enjoy this trek. The program is designed to acclimatize you gradually and not expected high altitude sickness. However you are requested to check your altitude fitness and the itinerary.
We suggest you to strengthen your knee muscles and prepare for several days of steep descents. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, biking or aerobics is recommended, but mostly hiking on steep hills or running up and down steps are preferable.
Please note that the following program is prepared in the fact basis however can be change in some circumstances but adjustments will have to made during the trekking. We request you to be flexible with the situation to enjoy yourself. As the trek is designed for camping arrangement, everything is handled by our team of porters, sherpas and cooks who carry the equipment, assemble and dissemble the camp and have hot meals waiting for you at every food break.
Any trek in this region is an experience to remember for everyone in lifetime. The famous trekking routes of this region are- Jomsom/Muktinath trail, Annapurna circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Gorepani/Ghandruk loop, Sikles/Lamjung Himal loop, and Upper Mustang. The best time to trek there in Spring and Autumn seasons of the year however some parts can be trek all the year round even in monsoon days and winter.
