Visa & Entry Requirements
  • Passport – Must be valid for at least 6 months from entry with at least one blank page.

  • Visa requirement – All foreigners (except Indian nationals) need a visa. Most can get a Visa on Arrival at Kathmandu airport and designated land borders, or apply in advance at an embassy/consulate.

  • Visa duration – Tourist visas are available for 15, 30, or 90 days.

  • Exemptions & extensions – Children under 10, citizens of SAARC countries (limited stay), and a few other categories may qualify for free visas. Tourist visas can be extended in Nepal, but overstays result in fines.

Nepal experiences four distinct seasons:

  • Spring (Mar-May): Ideal for trekking-warm days, rhododendron blooms, clear skies.
  • Autumn (Sept-Nov): Peak season-crisp weather, vibrant festivals like Dashain & Tihar, and clear mountain views.

  • Local Transport: Taxis, cycle-rickshaws in Kathmandu and cultural towns like Patan and Bhaktapur.
  • Vaccinations: Recommended-Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis for lowland Terai areas.
  • Altitude Sickness: Common above 3,000 m. Our itineraries include acclimatization days and professional guides to monitor health.
  • Tap Water: Drink bottled or boiled water. In trekking areas, travelers should use purifier tablets or UV filters.
