he Langtang Valley Trek, located north of Kathmandu within Langtang National Park, offers a scenic Himalayan adventure with lush forests, rhododendron blooms, alpine meadows, yak pastures, and stunning views of peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227 m). Trekkers also experience cultural highlights such as Kyanjin Gompa monastery, local cheese factories, and traditional Tamang-Sherpa villages. Following the 2015 earthquake, the trail and villages have been restored with improved lodges, water refill stations, and eco-friendly infrastructure.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Transfer to hotel.
  • Trek briefing and gear check. Evening free in Thamel.
  • Overnight: Kathmandu (4-star hotel)

Day 2: Kathmandu Preparation Day

  • Meet guide, finalize permits (Langtang NP Entry & TIMS) and trek logistics.
  • Optional sightseeing: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Durbar Square.
  • Overnight: Kathmandu

Day 3: Kathmandu → Syabrubesi (1,492 m)

  • Drive (~6–7 hrs) via jeep or tourist bus through scenic countryside.
  • Arrive in Syabrubesi, prepare permits, inventory trekking gear.
  • Overnight: Syabrubesi (teahouse)

Day 4: Syabrubesi → Lama Hotel (2,447 m) (~15 km, 5–6 hrs)

  • Trek through forests, bamboo groves, and small settlements.
  • Gradual ascent to Lama Hotel with views of surrounding hills.
  • Overnight: Lama Hotel (teahouse)

Day 5: Lama Hotel → Langtang Village → Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) (~6–7 hrs)

  • Pass through Sherpa and Tamang settlements.
  • Visit Langtang Village and continue to Kyanjin Gompa.
  • Explore monastery and local cheese factory.
  • Overnight: Kyanjin Gompa (teahouse)

Day 6: Acclimatization & Exploration at Kyanjin Gompa

  • Optional hike to Tserko Ri (5,050 m) or Kyanjin Ri for panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Day for rest, acclimatization, and photography.

Day 7: Kyanjin Gompa → Lama Hotel (~5–6 hrs)

  • Descend through alpine meadows and pastures.
  • Use trekking poles to ease strain on knees.
  • Overnight: Lama Hotel

Day 8: Lama Hotel → Bamboo / Rimche (~4–5 hrs)

  • Gradual downhill through forests and riverside trails.
  • Overnight: Bamboo or Rimche (teahouse)

Day 9: Bamboo → Syabrubesi (~11–12 km, 5 hrs)

  • Final trekking day through forested trails back to road access.
  • Overnight: Syabrubesi (teahouse)

Day 10: Syabrubesi → Kathmandu (~6–7 hrs)

  • Drive back to Kathmandu. Evening free in the city or prepare for departure.
  • Overnight: Kathmandu (4-star hotel)

Optional Extension: Gosaikunda Lake (~4,380 m) – adds 2–3 days for a spiritual alpine side trek.
